The top of the sky: the meridian where this planet stood highest at the minute you were born. It is the angle of the public record, and it governs work, standing, and the thing a person ends up known for, which is not always the thing they set out to do.
A Midheaven line is a meridian. It runs pole to pole at a single longitude, which is why it draws straight while the horizon lines curve.
Saturn at the Midheaven is the mastery line, and every source that says so also says it takes years. The public sphere here is a structure rather than an opportunity: it has rules, it has a queue, and it does not respond to enthusiasm. For anyone building something meant to outlast a trend it is arguably the strongest ground on the map, and for anyone hoping to be discovered it is the wrong place to wait.

There are no shortcuts under this line, and the place will not pretend otherwise. Work is slow, heavy and structural, recognition arrives late and then does not leave, and authority is earned in decades rather than seasons. What you build here holds.
The work will take more of your life than you intended to give it. Institutions here are demanding rather than kind, joy leaves the profession before the competence does, and corners cut in this place are found and named in public.
Ask this line about a career measured in decades: training, credentialing, joining an institution you intend to still be in. It is the worst line on the map to consult if you are hoping something happens quickly, and being told that plainly is more use than being told what you hoped.
Choose it when you want mastery rather than momentum: the long degree, the institution built from nothing, the standing that cannot be taken back. It will demand years of unglamorous discipline and it will be lonelier than you expect, and it will yield authority that no downturn can strip from you.
Saturn is one of the five bodies the tradition calls difficult, and all twenty of those entries carry a passage like this one. A demanding line is not a verdict.
